Biography
Internationally active as a soloist, collaborative pianist, and chamber musician, Ms. Chen specializes in collaborative repertoire for piano and strings, and in coaching string players. She has performed in concerts throughout the United States, Europe, Japan, and Taiwan and was a soloist with Taipei Symphony Orchestra under conductor Irwin Hoffman. As the official pianist for the Indiana University Violin Virtuosi since 1998, Ms. Chen has also toured frequently to New York, Cincinnati, Chicago, Saint Louis, Dallas, Seattle, Paris, Yokohama, and Tokyo. Chi-Yi Chen has been a faculty member of the Indiana University Summer String Academy since 1997 and has recording engagements under RIAX Label.
